Dress Code

Bayview Golf Club is a friendly and relaxed club that understands dress sense and standards vary according to each and every individual. As you would expect we like to see a neat and tidy standard of dress on the course and in the clubhouse at all times.

To play your best, you need to dress your best!

The dress regulations appearing herewith apply to both the GOLF COURSE and the CLUBHOUSE. Staff has been instructed to refuse service to members and visitors who are inappropriately dressed. The Board of Management also expect patrons to be neatly attired at all times.

GENTLEMEN

HATS: Golf / Sports hats and visors may be worn on the Golf Course but are not permitted to be worn in the Clubhouse.

SHIRTS: Golf shirts with collars including mock style collars are permitted.

The following clothing is not permitted and entry to the golf course and clubhouse will be refused:

  • Singlets
  • T Shirts
  • V Neck Shirts without collars
  • Bare mid-riffs
  • Football jumpers
  • Track suit tops
  • Any clothing with obtrusive wording or advertising other than that appropriate to golf.

SHORT AND LONG PANTS: Tailored trousers or shorts (including elastic waisted), cargo pants and shorts permitted. Jeans without tears are permitted in the Clubhouse.

The following clothing is not permitted and entry to the golf course and clubhouse will be refused:

  • Denim jeans or shorts are not permitted on the golf course
  • Tracksuit pants
  • Beachwear
  • Stubbies
  • Soiled or torn clothing

SOCKS: Predominantly white may be worn. Short sport socks are permitted to be worn with shorts. Long socks must be pulled up at all times. Sockettes are permitted as long as they are visible above shoes.

SHOES: Specific golf shoes, joggers or sport shoes must be worn on the golf course. Steel spikes are not permitted. Boat shoes without socks may be worn in the Clubhouse.

The following clothing is not permitted and entry to the golf course and clubhouse will be refused:

  • Thongs
  • Bare Feet
  • Crocs
  • Slip on Shoes without backs (men)
  • Work Boots
  • Any shoes that may damage putting greens.

 

LADIES

HATS: Golf / Sports hats and visors may be worn on the Golf Course but are not permitted to be worn in the Clubhouse.

  • Any clothing with obtrusive wording or advertising other than that appropriate to golf.

  • Any clothing with obtrusive wording or advertising other than that appropriate to golf.

SHORTS, LONG PANTS AND DRESSES: Jeans without tears are permitted in the Clubhouse. Tailored slacks, tailored jeans & culottes are permitted. Skirts or shorts must be shorter than 13cm above the knee. Strapless dresses are only permitted in the evening.

The following clothing is not permitted and entry to the golf course and clubhouse will be refused;

  • Denim jeans or shorts are not permitted on the golf course
  • Tracksuit pants
  • Beachwear
  • Skirts or shorts shorter than that specified above
  • Leggings & tights
  • Soiled or torn clothing

SHOES: Ladies Sandals are permitted, specific golf shoes, joggers or sport shoes must be worn on the golf course. Steel spikes are not permitted, Boat shoes without socks may be worn in the Clubhouse.

  • Thongs
  • Bare Feet
  • Crocs
  • Any shoes that may damage putting greens.

Mobile Phones are permitted in the Clubhouse only, they are not permitted on the golf course during competitions with exception given for medical reasons only and usage could lead to disqualification.
