 Bayview Brigade

On Monday 30th August 12 members carried out a range of projects on the course.

The selected tasks were;
• removal of cores from greens to help reopening of the course for Tuesday
• preparation of slab for practice nets
• weeding and mulching of gardens surrounding 6th tee and near 5th green
• cleanup of ferns on 3rd hole
• beautification of banks of large dam

This was one of our biggest turnups ever and through close coordination with David Stone and the ground staff we certainly achieved much more than was expected. David is very pleasantlysurprised at the number of volunteers and their “work ethic” and will continue to use the Brigade to good advantage.

Thanks to our August volunteers-
Bob Cadden, Veronica Kotarski, Gary O’Brien, Steve Whitfield,
Dave Ryan, Greg Attwood, Roger Smith, Bob Orth and welcome
newcomers John O’Connor, Tony Marshall, Ian Felton and Pat Fisher.

As a small gesture to recognize the work of the Brigade the club will give 2 additional visitor passes to any member who attends at least 5 times during our golfing year. We are aiming to increase numbers to over 20 members per month and if this can be achieved we will really be able to make a dramatic difference to our golf course.

Contact the office or Bob Cadden m: 0410 228 645 if you can spare 4 hours on the morning of the last Monday in the month.Here is an opportunity to “make a difference” and to gain a real sense of achievement while meeting and working with fellow members. Apart from anything else it is great fun. Hope to see you on Monday 27th September.
